We recently posted something on Facebook about Jigsaw Magnesium w/SRT® being a good source of magnesium. And of course we would think that! :)
But Lupe Gonzales didn't really agree, and commented:
Go natural... Why pay for this [Jigsaw Magnesium w/SRT] when you have to buy food anyway..spend your monies wisely.. High magnesium foods include dark leafy greens, nuts, seeds, fish, beans, whole grains, avocados, yogurt, bananas, dried fruit, dark chocolate, and more. The current daily value (DV) for magnesium is 400mg.
To which I replied:
...we at Jigsaw agree that everyone should "go natural" and get as many of their nutrients as they can from good, clean food. However, that's not always possible for everyone for various reasons...
Putting it into perspective, 4 tablets of Jigsaw Mag SRT contains 500mg of Magnesium and costs about $.66.
By contrast, you'd have to eat 7 ounces (nearly half a pound) of Almonds to get 525mg or Magnesium, as there is approx 75mg of Magnesium per ounce of almonds.
And raw organic almonds (which are delicious) costs about $12/pound on Amazon, making almonds about 10 times more expensive than Mag SRT supplements. And, that's a LOT of almonds to eat throughout the day. ;-)
So again, while I agree with getting as much nutrients through food as you can, dietary supplements are actually an efficient and relatively inexpensive way of getting that extra "oomph" each day. :)

So which is better, getting Magnesium from food, or from Magnesium supplements? How about both!!! :)
